As a life-long nature and animal-lover, I studied earth science at university to pursue my passion for the environment. I am a scientist and amateur naturalist. I thought I would share my love of science, nature and the environment through my blog. When I am not blogging, I spend my time in nature – hiking, biking, bird-watching (I am a beginner) and last, but not least of all, I also love cuddling cats. I currently live in the Pacific Northwest on Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia and as such many of my posts focus on this region.

I do my best to make all of my own original content on my blog (photos, text, graphics), but anything that is not my own is clearly cited. Any knowledge or facts that are not from my own brain are also appropriately cited.

What specific topics do I write about?
Birds and birding
fossilsandfaunaEnvironmental issues & conservation
Geology & environmental history
Pet care & health
Travel
              Wildlife

And of course, I would be nothing without my co-authors…

  1. Thanks for the lovely comments on our blog. I’ve been reading yours, on and off, for the last hour or so while we are on the road and am enjoying it. Loved the otter pictures, we are always trying to spot wildlife wherever we go. And we’re getting into birding as well. I look forward to learning more from your blog!

    1. Thanks! When I came across yours yesterday, you can tell I did the same thing. I just love that you’ve taken off in a RV with your pets and living life, I hope it is going well! I look forward to reading more of your adventures and I am sure you will see lots of wildlife and birds on your travels. 🙂
